The Football Hall of Fame 〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.footballaustralia.com.au/misc/hall-of-fame-about/ast5ib9063an1pob8wl6l2wrt )〕 was established in 1999 as the Soccer Hall of Fame to honour outstanding services to association football in Australia. It is organised by Football Federation Australia, the governing body of association football in Australia. Since its formation 194 players, coaches, referees, administrators and media representatives have been inducted in the Football Hall of Fame.
There are three separate levels of awards, with different but equivalent levels for contributions made 'on the pitch' and those made 'off the pitch'
* Hall of Champions (players) / Hall of Honour (non-players)
* Medal of Excellence (players) / Roll of Honour (non-players)
* Award of Distinction (players) / Roll of Honour (non-players)
==Hall of Champions / Hall of Honour==
This is the highest award available for a contribution to the development of the game in Australia, and is given for eminent service or contributions to football in Australia, whether at state/territory level, nationally or internationally.
